These things can suck up an incredible amount of your time, if you let them. They're just so darn cute though, and the neopets folks sure know how to cater to some of the baser urges: your pet pleads for you to buy it toys, and food, and other stuff. There are zillions of things to collect on the site, and lots of "rare" items to hunt for, trade, buy, and compete for. Very sneaky.

Some day, I may write a short article on why I think this site works, and why I think they're just a bit sleazy.
