Excellence can be attained if you care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical, expect more than others think is possible...

from: "Thunder: Perfect Mind," author unknown

You cannot overcome time. All things wither, fade, perish. Whether your love lasts until your death or not, it will surely die and you will be dirt again. Why must it be that the imagining of an entire life together is the final measure of whether love is true? Love exists in the moment, it is more a thing of the sharp present than almost anything else you can do. What is that quality of permanence that makes it so necessary before you can open your heart to love? I think that comes from a baser feeling, the need for security and stability. I have loved many women in my life, and I have been in love three times, maybe four. Each of these women is so special, our time together so perfect and transcendent. It still warms my heart to know that they are alive, that we shared the moment together. If I never see my lover again, if she dies or if the spark that once arched between us is broken, I will still be content and full, knowing that it happened. At that moment when you die, you may or may not be holding your lover's hand. Probably you will not. So it is all memory anyway. Why not enjoy it in the present, not in thoughts of future recollection?
